Strada Eateria & Coffee

OPENED 400 DAYS AGO

Strada Eateria & Coffee is a restaurant and café found at the King Edward Hotel in Los Angeles.

Serving “world food” made with local ingredients, as well as fair trade coffee, Strada Eateria & Coffee is a social, artistic space conveniently located downtown.

The Spot:

With a shopfront of floor-to-ceiling windows, this bright and airy space is ideal for coffee and conversation. They also host art exhibitions; the current one showcases the photography of Eric Berry.

The King Edward Hotel is a historic building, and while Strada Eateria & Coffee is clean and modern, its modest décor gives the impression of age, too, as if this neighborhood hangout has been around for decades.

Located on East 5th Street, this new café is one of LA’s latest restaurant openings. You’ll also find DTLA Ramen and Birds & Bees nearby.

The Food:

Strada Eateria & Coffee is equipped with an eclectic menu of organic and non-GMO dishes. Options include sandwiches, seafood and salads, as well as charcuterie, burgers and a few pastries. Although they specialize in Turkish coffee, they don’t hesitate to take culinary inspiration from all around the world – the seafood section features both ceviche and a poké bowl, for example, while pastries include baklava as well as croissants.

The Drinks:

Serving fair trade, Turkish coffee alongside tea and juices, Strada Eateria & Coffee has a great variety of drinks to choose from. If it’s your first time and you’re a coffee lover, their traditional, sand-brewed coffee is well worth trying – strong, but not bitter. Juice and tea options include an organic hibiscus iced tea, basil mint cucumber lemonade, a matcha latte and more.

The Damage:

Most drinks range from $3-5.50, including the Turkish coffee at $5. A meal will cost $10-15 per person.

In a Nutshell:

Strada Eateria & Coffee brings together food, art and conversation. This café’s inviting, warm space and quality ingredients are sure to be popular with both hotel guests and neighborhood locals alike.
